Favor in Famine

posted by PrayerWarrior

I wanted to write an article to this effect, but found I did not quite have the wording down as I wanted it. I found this in my email in box one day from Nugget and saw it was everything I wanted to say, and said so wonderfully that I immediately wrote this lovely woman of God and asked if I could post this on my own blog. I was given permission and so here it is, I hope you enjoy it as much as i did.

The world is resounding a song of an economic crisis. The song they are singing is , “This is one of the most tumultuous times on record in the global financial markets.”

The financial indicators have indicated major instability, cutbacks, retrenchment and shortfalls. The world’s economists who are the experts in the social science http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_science , of economics http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economics , sound more like prophets of doom at present. Their pessimistic outlook has cast a shadow over 2009. Everywhere you look, the land is crying out for aid and relief.

Amidst the turmoil, the kingdom of God is either caught up by the recession or found to be rising above it. We as the church believe that though we live in the world, we are not of the world. In other words as God’s people we are not confined to the economy of the land but we live under the economy of heaven where there is no recession, no cutbacks and no shortfalls. As citizens of heaven, heavens reserves and resources govern us.

We do our part on earth by living under heavens standards and God will do his part by opening up the heavens and sending relief, aid, substance and abundance. He keeps us living above the tide of the world’s pressures. In Jeremiah 31:14 God’s word teaches us that we as his people shall be satisfied with his goodness. The goodness of God exceeds our wildest imagination and greatest expectation.

How do we know for certain that God will flourish us in times of famine? In Genesis 26 we read the following account of Isaac: “Now there was a famine in the land—besides the earlier famine of Abraham’s time—and Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar.”

The famine of the land was a set-up for God to show his magnitude and glory in Isaac’s life. Isaac was not taken away from the famine. Instead he flourished within it. God used this opportunity of economic distress as a platform to elevate his children. God’s promise to Isaac was not to run away from the famine but to remain steadfast and immovable and leave the rest up to him.

“The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, ‘Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live. Stay in this land for a while …”

Obedience to the voice of God is imperative. When we listen accurately, we do not run around aimlessly and without vision. God’s word will preserve us and propel us to acquire the best. We will rise above the setbacks of the economy as a higher authority governs us.

God’s promise to Isaac was that: “…I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed …”

God’s covenant of promise will not change and it stands firm for every generation. If under the law, Isaac lived in such a magnitude of blessing, imagine how much more we who are children under grace will live. We are a positioned people in times of world distress to be a beacon of hope. We are the relief the land is looking for and we have the answers. Jesus is the answer in our lives so lets rise above the world’s circumstances to lift Jesus higher that all men will be drawn unto him. Isaac had God’s Favor, which devoured the famine and rendered it to naught. Isaac obeyed God’s instruction and stayed in Gerar .In that year he reaped a hundredfold. He gained more and more until he became very wealthy. He had possessions of flocks and herds and many servants, so that the Philistines envied him. They even asked him to leave as he was mightier than them.

Wow, how awesome is our God. He reigns supreme and positions us to soar above all limitations. We are designed to live in the full measure of Christ. It is so important for us to remain positioned as God ordained and to live in the direct will of God. He places us to be blessed but also to be a blessing. God searches from among us, Isaacs and Rebekah’s to pour out his favor and splendor over us. We are a preserved people of power.

Favor in times of famine is our heritage as children of God. Blessings over our lives are contagious and the anointing will be imparted to all those around us. All nations will be blessed through us.

Lets cover our land with much prayer and stand in the gap as beacons for Christ.

A few thoughts for you:

Trust God to work out every situation. Pray at the altar until the winds are loosed to bring heavens change.

Pray for your place of employment that increase will come from the north, south, east and west. It does not matter which part of the chain you are in. If the business flourishes so will you.

Ask of God for divine wisdom to run your own businesses and give to God faithfully what is due to him.

God is the author and finisher of you and all that belongs to you

Stay focused and positioned. Don’t give in to doubt and despair. Be rooted in his promises and believe it to come to pass.

Cast your bread upon the waters and wait and after many days, it shall surely find you.

Strive to Shine in 2009 and be the best in your generation.
Hazel Moodley

That was great and so very filling of daily bread. God Bless you all andmake you shine in these times.

Unity In Christ

posted by PrayerWarrior

What does being of one mind make you think of? What exactly is unity? The dictionary defines unity like this.
1.the state of being one; oneness.
2.a whole or totality as combining all its parts into one.
3.the state or fact of being united or combined into one, as of the parts of a whole; unification.
4.absence of diversity; unvaried or uniform character.
5.oneness of mind, feeling, etc., as among a number of persons; concord, harmony, or agreement.
a relation of all the parts or elements of a work constituting a harmonious whole and producing a single general effect.

This is what Christians who call themselves the body of Christ should look like.We as Christians are supposed to work together towards furthering God’s kingdom.

United means= 1.made into or caused to act as a single entity: a united front.
2.formed or produced by the uniting of things or persons: a united effort.
3.agreed; in harmony.
I find it so hard to understand how there is so much infighting going on amongst those who are Christs own. We who have been washed in the blood of Christ are supposed to help one another . Exhort one another. In patience and calmness instruct one another. In my own walk with the Lord I find that in just studying his word to show myself approved to God. I am entirely too busy worrying about my own walk with the Lord, and how better to further my understanding of God through his word a very fulfilling and busy work. What is false teaching? False teaching is someone teaching a different salvation. Teaching a different Jesus. Salvation issues are the only things we need to be watching out for. It does not matter how much money a preacher makes. It does not matter if he believes eating one kind of meat is okay even if you do not agree. It is looking for salvation issues, and rather we recognize them coming from another preacher or teacher.  We must at all times be aware of that fact, and keep in mind Jesus wants us simply to further his kingdom. We are supposed to be united in that one goal.

There are people who are so busy being a divider of the Lords called children, that I honestly cannot see how they have any time to further the kingdom, nor further their own walk with the Lord. I do not believe for one minute that God gave people, any person the job of finding all “their” ideas of a false teacher. I know personally if thats all I was doing all the time, day in and day out, my joy in the Lord would be wiped out. I would be angry on God’s behalf and quite unfulfilled in the word of the Lord. Besides the fact that the Lord does not need me, you or anyone, to do anything for him. He does however love us and desire us for his own.  I am sure you have all seen and or heard at one time in your life the saying, United we stand, divided we fall. If we divide up and take firm angry stances against one another’s small and or secondary beliefs we are simply dividing ourselves from one another. We as the whole body need one another to function correctly. How can a body function if it’s many parts are going in different directions, it would not work!

Here are some verses that speak of the unity we are supposed to be.

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Psalms 119:63 I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
Psalms 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Jeremiah 32:39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
Matthew 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.  Are you some one else’s master? Do you know God did not or did give that person this thing to speak on? I tell you the truth not one of us knows the mind of God and or what he may have assigned someone else to do.
John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Romans 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Romans 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.   YES let’s not think ourselves wiser than another brother or sister in Christ. Romans 13:13-14 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.Rom 15:5-6 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: 6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”Evil communication” is that not throwing down accusations of false teacher when it is more than likely not a salvation issue ? 2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Ephesians 4:2-6
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ephesians 4:15-18 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. 17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind. 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.  Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Philippians 2:2-5,8
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Are we obedient when tearing a brother or sister down? Philippians 3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Colossians 3:12-16 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Teaching differently about God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, is false teaching. God does not look upon the earth and care to see anything other than, Washed in the Blood, not washed in the blood. God does not care about wealth, food, race, clothing, and hair style. He reads your inside your heart, not your outer trappings.

1 Peter 3:8-12 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. You are not honoring God nor your own family in Christ by being jealous of someones wealth. By being angry at someone supposedly on God’s behalf. Anger is never and has never been of the Lord.

In closing let me say this.  What is the Body of Christ?  The body of Christ is composed of the various Christian and Messianic Jewish fellowships exhibiting the fruits of the Holy Spirit. So if God places his Holy Spirit in a person, he or she is a believer, it’s that simple. Paul clearly stated that true believers in Jesus could possess a very wide range of differing secondary beliefs and still be genuine believers. So we must drop our prejudices toward each other due to differences in secondary beliefs.
What is the sign of a believer in Jesus?  Jesus, before His death and resurrection, commanded his disciples—believers and followers of Him—TO LOVE EACH OTHER (John 13:34-35).  That is how Jesus said others would know we are his disciples.  He said the world will know we are His if, and only if, we have this love for each other that He had for all of us. Also read Romans 14:1-23. Just love one another. Show the world we are indeed Christs, and that we love one another. There is going to be a time coming when the words love your enemies are going to be the hardest to live by. The Lord loves the whole world enough to have sent  His son for everyone who accepts. Even satan knows a divided body cannot stand, thats why he works so hard to divide us.

May God Bless us all and bring us closer together to meet our goal of bringing many to the Lord.

Wolves In Sheep’s Clothing

posted by PrayerWarrior

When I was led to do this particular article, I researched it, and do you know what I found?
I found that all those preachers who are busy pointing out other wolves in sheep’s clothing were actually the very thing they were preaching against. Thats right, look up the words wolves in sheep’s clothing for yourself, and notice it is preachers talking about other preachers and putting them down. You will see what it is The Lord was speaking about through Paul. What does this mean to me, when I hear of ravening wolves, hiding as one of the sheep among the sheep? I think of devious jealous snarling angry unhappy people. Who do not apparently have enough to do with their own lives, and are just not busy enough leading people to the Lord. Our great commission according to Jesus is to go out and lead others to him.How can we effectively lead others to the Lord, if we are so busy looking for something bad to report about another preacher or teacher? Or even another brother or sister in Christ. It reminds me of my children when they were growing up and jealous of one another’s attention. Dad he said this, mom she said that ,aren’t you going to punish her or him?

In effect are we not as brothers and sisters in Christ doing the same thing when we take it upon ourselves to point out a wrong word or misspoken sentence someone else might have said? Most often, peoples opinions on others, is based upon their own prejudices, jealousies and or anger. It is a sad state of afairs when in looking for verses online pertaining to wolves in sheep’s clothing. Alls you can find on the issue is other preachers putting down other preachers and teachers. We are all supposed to be honoring one another in the body of Christ. Now I have no problem personally with others prayerfully considering sharing their disappointment with other Christians. Once in a while about someone they once had great esteem for,and they found out through that preachers own words, that he/she was indeed a wolf in sheep’s clothing. This takes serious consideration and time. My issue with the preachers who are talking smack about other preachers is this, they are not working the great commission that Christ told us is our job. That is simply to further the kingdom of God. To grow it and in love and patience teach one another.

If say a person came to Christ through the teachings and or preaching or evangelizing of one preacher, and then that new Christian heard through another preacher even their own preacher, that this person whom at first led them to the Lord, was a crooked so and so, or a wolf and they simply had misspoken something. Would that new baby Christian turn away? Would that new Christian who held such esteem for this person who led them to the Lord, Now hearing that preacher is bad bad bad. Couldn’t that give them serious pause to think, oh man who am I kidding here? I don’t know anything. I was stupid to listen to that or this person. Would that not turn them away forever more? I know within myself if I had heard all that I now know as a new Christian. I probably would have turned away. Thinking I knew nothing and this was a bunch of angry people I would not want to have anything to do with.

A study was done this past summer and filmed on,what other people think of Christians, are they united or divided? The answer by people who are not saved and do not have a clue about it, was they are so very divided. That dear friends is horrible. How can we effectively show the world at large, that we are indeed of one body, if it seems to the rest of the world that we are not united. Philippians 2:2 then fill me with joy by having the same attitude, sharing the same love, being united in spirit, and keeping one purpose in mind.[ISV] 1 Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all like minded, compassionate, loving as brethren, tenderhearted, humble minded: This is the body of Christ and what it would look like to the rest of the world.

Romans 15:6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Psalms 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Jeremiah 32:39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Romans 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.  I could go on and on with these verses of unity, but this has moved me in another direction than I wanted this article to go. Obviously my next article will be one minded in Christ.

Now what we are looking for in wolves, who are ravening and mad, who hide themselves as Christians among Christians . “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. “Matthew 7:15, KJV “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. “Matthew 10:16, KJV “Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. “Luke 10:3, KJV “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.”Acts 20:29, KJV.

Jesus does not spell out what “fruits” to look for, although in the Olivet Prophecy, He does link the deceptions of false prophets with the lawlessness and lack of love that abounds at the end time (Matthew 24:11-13). However, the rest of the Bible elucidates God’s character and nature, so we already have the tools to evaluate whether a message allegedly coming from God fits with what His Word reveals about Him. God is not double-minded; He will not contradict Himself. In other words test everything you hear everything against the word of God. We are also quite lucky in that the Lord has provided us the Holy Spirit which helps us to have discernment within ourselves. If it sounds wrong compared to what you already know, then search it out, study it up, and learn, always learn about your Father in Heaven, and what he would have you know as truth.

The description here is very apt—wolves in sheep’s clothing. They appear on the outside to be something they are not. When Jesus uttered this, He was probably thinking of false ministers who would insinuate themselves into the church by appearing to be sheep within the sheepfold.

Jesus uses this terminology in regard to His relationship with the church. He is the Shepherd, and we are His sheep. Here we have wolves (false ministers) who look like sheep, but it is hypocrisy. They only look that way on the outside. He tells us we will know them by their fruits. The fruit that is produced will not necessarily appear quickly. But Christ guarantees that over a period of time the church will be stripped of its true spiritual vitality in terms of the character that will be produced within the flock, making the rise of wolves in sheep’s clothing more likely.

What is He saying? The implication is that Jesus is connecting belief with practice. If we believe a certain set of doctrines, we will practice something because of the teaching. A religious creed or the dogma that a group is following will produce a certain kind of conduct by the people. Belief and practice, creed and conduct—Jesus is saying they are vitality connected. In other words, the teacher cannot hide what he is going to produce. Eventually it will come out. Their false philosophies, no matter how attractive they may appear at first sight, will in the long run be exposed for what they really are.

In Closing my brothers and sisters, I wish to warn you a little further of what to look for in wolves hiding among us. (Romans 1:28-32) And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. At all times keep your ears open, your eyes trained on truth. You I trust will know who to stay away from.

It is not our job to show the world who in our own opinion is a false teacher, but to trust the Holy Spirit will warn individuals of who is a wolf in sheeps clothing. To speak ill of someone else who is according to the word, our brother or sister is gossip, and slander.

Love in Christ Jesus,Tammy
