Hebrews Chapter 6 Explained By Messianic Jews.

posted by PrayerWarrior

Chapter Six

1. What is the first “elementary” doctrine mentioned?

Repentance from dead works and faith toward God.

2. The second doctrine?

The doctrine of baptisms.

3. The third doctrine?

Laying on of hands.

4. The fourth doctrine?

The resurrection of the dead.

5. The fifth doctrine?

Eternal judgment.

6. What does the writer of Hebrews term these five doctrines?

The first principles, the beginning, of the doctrine of Christ.

7. What does the writer of Hebrews exhort us to do, with reference to the five elementary doctrines?

To leave them and go on to perfection, to maturity.

The writer means that we are to leave them and proceed further with our discussion of the Christian salvation. However, in the light of the statements in Chapter Two through Five, it also is true that we should press past them in actual practice and seek to enter the rest of God.

8. Beginning at verse four, what aspects of salvation had the Hebrew saints experienced already?

They had been enlightened.

They had tasted the heavenly gift.

They had been made partakers of the Holy Spirit.

They had tasted the good Word of God; they had tasted the works of power of the world age to come.

9. What is impossible if people of such spiritual experience should fall away?

To renew them again to repentance.

10. What two things do such backsliders do to Christ?

They crucify Him again and they expose Him to public shame.

Numerous Christian teachers have attempted to prove that once a person has made a genuine of belief in Jesus he can never be removed from the grace of God. Their position is based on a concept of grace as a sovereign action of God unrelated to man’s response.

The premise that redemption is an abstract Divine act that does not depend on human response is one of the deadliest, most subtle of all the errors that have corrupted Christian thinking. The Divine redemption, from beginning to completion, is an opportunity. The believer can choose to pursue the continuing revelation of God’s grace or can, after having begun, ignore and neglect the further challenges and demands.

The Christian walk is a way of faith, a way of righteousness. Whenever a believer ceases to press forward in faith he stands in danger of falling back into spiritual death. Satan never ceases his attempts to deceive the Christian away from the path of light.

The believer who, after repeated admonitions of the Lord, does not begin to bear the fruit of righteousness, will be cut out of the Vine, out of Christ.

Thesis of the Book of Hebrews is that we will be made a partaker of Christ on the condition that we press forward to the land of promise, to the rest of God, to the fullness of our inheritance in Christ. Hebrews was written to experienced disciples who now were losing their fervency.

The expression “If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance” must be interpreted in the light of the whole Book of Hebrews. It appears that these seasoned Christians were beginning to neglect their salvation and were not pressing into the rest of God, the perfection of salvation that is the mark of maturity.

The spiritual forces that govern the earth are so powerful, the currents so strong and swift, that is not press forward is to be swept backward. The experienced saint who loses the white heat of fervency slowly but surely loses ground. Satan works slowly and unremittingly. Before many years have past the believer who once had been a prophet of God is now living in the flesh. His spiritual life is dying.

Whether he would be able in this condition to rekindle his love for Jesus is questionable. We have known of a man in this condition. What at one time had been a vibrant Christian was now a shell of a man, sick, terrified that he had sinned away his day of grace. Our counsel to him was to sit in church every time the doors opened and hope that God would have mercy on him and give him the grace to repent and pray.

Our relationship to the Lamb of God is that of Bride to Bridegroom. We may stumble a few times, in which instances the Lord will pick us up so we may continue our journey toward His palace. But if we fall away, spurning His love, there may come a day when He loses interest in us.

We know of the parable of the prodigal son and the blessing this has been to countless sinners who have come to themselves and returned to Father’s house.

We know also of a faithless Israel who sinned until there no longer was a remedy and they lost the Glory that had been theirs. Twenty-five hundred years later they still are trying to retain control of their land and their holy city.

If we neglect our salvation we will not escape punishment and severe loss of inheritance–if not something worse!

11. What kind of ground does God bless?

That which drinks the rain that comes on it and brings forth crops fit for those for whom it has been tilled.

12. What is true of ground that brings forth thorns and thistles?

It is rejected. It is near a curse. It will be burned in the end.

13. What are some of the things that “accompany salvation”?

Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, and a pressing forward in the Spirit each day toward the fullness of the inheritance that is in Christ.

If these “things” are not accompanying our Christian experience, then salvation is not occurring. Faith apart from such works of righteousness is dead.

14. What was God remembering concerning the Hebrew Christians?

Their work and labor of love in serving the saints.

Evidently these Jewish saints were hospitable toward the traveling ministries, and were doing all that they could to assist Christians who were in need.

15. How can we make ourselves sure of our hope of salvation?

By being diligent in the work of the Kingdom of God, by following and imitating the believers who through faith and patience are becoming heirs of the promises of God that are in Christ.

Notice that our hope must be made sure. We inherit the rest of God, the land of promise, only as we respond to God’s salvation with faith and patience. Salvation is not an arbitrary Divine action; rather, it is an opportunity to regain what was lost in Eden. God has given Jesus to us to help us drive Satan from our inheritance. Jesus helps us and guides us in every detail. But we must obey Him at each moment or the process ceases.

Prayer is not merely asking God to give us what we desire. Prayer is the way in which we enter the program of redemption, seeking the Lord’s will, and receiving strength and guidance so His will may be done in our life.

16. By whom did God swear, when He made His promise to Abraham concerning Abraham’s descendants?

By Himself because there is no one greater to swear by.

17. What trait of character was Abraham required to exercise in order to inherit the promises that God had made to him?

Patience.

18. Why did God confirm His promise with an oath?

So the heirs of the promise would be convinced of the unchanging nature of God’s intention.

19. What two “immutable” (unchangeable) things give us strong “consolation” (encouragement)?

God’s promise plus the oath that confirms the promise.

20. What is the “hope ” of the Christian pilgrim?

That his soul will be saved (Hebrews 10:39) and that he will inherit the fullness of the blessing promised to the descendants of Abraham.

21. Where is our soul anchored?

In the Most Holy place behind the veil, being fastened there by our hope.

22. Who made a place for us behind the holy veil?

The Lord Jesus, our eternal High Priest of the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews through out, assures us that since the Jews who were rescued from Egypt and still complained and moaned and railed against God and even after seeing the miracles the Lord performed over the forty year wilderness experience, lost their inheritance, that we surely can too. Also I want to point out something that is often over looked.
The angels who fell with satan can never be returned to the Lord,or gain eternity in heaven ever again. If the angels who are above us, we being just a bit lower than they are in our being, can never regain their standing with God,then how does one expect that it would be any different for us? If we turn away from God after tasting being in and walking in the Holy Spirit, how and why would He give us another chance?

I have to say I do not care about being right for myself,no I care about you all getting this right so that when the multitude of tribulation comes to you,you will not turn away thinking you are forever safe. What a terrible thing it would be for you who has been running the race thus far to give up just before the finish line, and lose all the gain you made. To stand before Christ and have Him say depart from me you who are iniquity I never knew you.

I will finish with this from Hebrews 10:26-31, 26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay, and again, “The Lord will judge his people”. 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews in it’s entirety explains as well that the old covenant laws of Moses have been done away with that the new covenant with Christ as that covenant obliterates the law from having to be observed outside of ourselves. Meaning He wrote those laws on our heart and the Holy Spirit as long as we keep in fellowship and growing, helps us in every way to not transgress. There is no more need for sacrificing for sins just repentance. If you sin and you do it one willingly and two without feeling the need for forgiveness then you are in danger of hell fire.
To this writer and reader, these verses these chapters in Hebrews explains thoroughly we can give up our salvation.

My Glory Experience

posted by PrayerWarrior

when at first I was confronted by the Lord about my fake Christianity,I saw truth and was rewarded with a brand spanking new life,I became born again. I praise the Lord for calling me out,and cleaning me up. I am forever grateful to Him for seeing my heart and knowing better than I, that who I thought I was was not the real thing. I did not want to be a fake Christian. The Lord showed me through a series of books that I just was not who I thought I was.

One morning I was laying in my bed praising the lord with all that I had in me,and I asked Father can you please just show me, give me a glimpse into eternity? That was enough said a very simple request turned into the most amazing experience one could ever imagine. I cried,I laughed,I shook and my soul quaked within me. My tears flew in every direction,From A Laying Down Position!!! I say it that way because I want you to understand the craziness of the tears flying in every direction at once. Up Down and outward! When I say my soul was quaking, that is not even enough to describe how my spirit seemed to be trying to climb right out of me. My body stood still but my spirit was dancing within me. My heart felt as though it would explode with the Love pouring into and out of it from, and for my God.

I saw the Lord in profile kind of, and then I was transported to His position, not in His place but seeing us all the way He sees us,with a lens of pure love. I saw the spirit connection that radiates out of Him directly to our hearts, and from our hearts to Him. We are amazingly small compared to our God,and yet so huge with His love. I found myself thinking I wish everyone on earth could see this! There would be no one anywhere who could refuse this amazing Love! It was a truly amazing experience I wished would never end. Unfortunately it did end :( but while I was in this experience,it felt like I was there for a long long time. A moment with the Lord is like a thousand years and a thousand years, like a moment with the Lord, is so profoundly true. When I came back to life as we know it, it had been mere moments, but oh the joy, the huge amounts of joy that filled me that day and many after, was just mind blowing.

I pray that each and every one of us would experience this amazing never ending Love. I hope that everyone who is the Lord’s through Christ, can experience this absolute exhilarating intoxicating Love, before they die. After we have gone from this body,of course we will experience this Love first hand, but it is a major hope of mine for as many as can worship the Lord with all their might, might experience this wonder. The thing that is craziest of all of it was my spirit trying to climb out of me so to speak. It recognized it’s true home, and wanted to be there forever.

That is part of how I know I will be here for the end. I know there is much work for me to do in the Lord and for the Kingdom’s cause. The Lord filled me with His love for people,He actually showed me that love. He gave me to know His heart, to feel if only a little drip drop, His heart for His children. He gave me to know He desires a relationship with each and every person on this earth. He gave me to know His sorrow at so many refusing this relationship.

Please wont you come and be His? Please will you not consider His absolute amazing love that cannot be fathomed by the human heart? Come to Him and have perfect peace and rest.

Not the kind that never experiences problems of course, we always experience problems, but there is perfect peace to be had through all things we go through, in Him! Wont you become His so He can become yours? He is not looking for you to give everything, with Him not giving in return. NO!! that is not how God does things. He gives us so much more than we could ever imagine possible. We give ourselves to Him and He gives us back ten fold what we have given to him. Life and life more abundantly. Jesus was sent and freely came to be the one time sacrifice needed to pay the price for our sin nature. He is the Perfect spotless sinless wrinkle free Lamb of God!

It is only through Christ Jesus that we may enter into this perfect peace and rest. All you have to do is repent of your sins which means look away from them and see them for the separating factor they are. The things that separate you from God. Believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God,that He came and lived a sin free life, then took on our sin, became it,and died as sin. Then rose again having broken the yoke, the bondage of our sin life, and set us who accept all of this, Free!! Now Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father as an intercessor, always speaking to the Father on our behalf. When satan comes accusing us to the Father the Lord our savior Jesus says nope sorry they stand not accused, for I paid for that! Let us all frustrate satan. Let us who were accused for so long, be bought and paid for. Let your slate be cleaned white as snow. Let your sin be thrown as far as the east is from the west never to be looked upon again. Wont you?

See once our slate has been cleaned by Jesus blood, God never ever remembers it. He will never drag your sin out and throw it in your face. That is a human thing to do, and a shameful one at that. He will never hold anything against you again! Once you are made free, and continue on in the Lord Jesus, and get baptized in water and the Holy Spirit, there will never be another moment of condemnation for you again Romans 8:1. I must say being saved, baptized in water and the Holy Spirit are three different things. We are saved by accepting the gift that Jesus gave, which was his life’s blood. Then we are baptized in water to signify our death and resurrection into the new man/woman. Then we get baptized in the Holy Spirit to receive the gifts in the Holy Spirit. You will not have the gifts that the Lord has specifically for you, unless you also get baptized in the Holy Spirit. Completely separate from the acceptance of the Lord’s gift, eternal life.

Why should we desire to have the gifts the Holy Spirit provides? Good question! The answer is simple, to live the joy filled peaceful life and live it more abundantly,John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. He desires you to have a life filled with joy and abundance in all ways.To have peace and be comforted through all that life throws at us. A life free of the laws that religion puts us under. God is not looking for you to be religious, NO! He is looking for a religion free, relationship with you. He wants to fill your life with His grace, with His unmerited favor. Meaning we do not deserve this we cannot work for it,He gives it to us freely.

Let’s put it this way,a gift given to us is not ours unless we first accept it right? Right! So when Jesus came and gave up His spot in eternity He did this knowing full well the price He would have to pay to free us,because sin has always had to be paid for with blood sacrifices. Not just any blood but perfect blemish free animals blood. This is why Jesus is called the perfect lamb of God. This is why He came to earth as a man fully,to experience every temptation to sin,but remain sinless. He had to be born of a virgin, no man could be involved because sin is passed down through the man. So the virgin was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit and then Jesus was implanted into her womb.

He truly lived a sinless perfect life. Then it pleased God to take He who was sinless and make Him our sin. He had to die in our place a perfect lamb with out blemish,(blemish being sin) or spot. His blood was spilled and the price was paid once for all time. Now no more sacrifice is necessary on God’s part. We must now accept the gift in order to have eternal life of joy and peace and rest and eternity with the Lord. Come my friends come to this wondrous amazing beautiful relationship. You will not regret it. I have not regretted one second of my life as a Christian. Each day i grow more and more in wisdom and knowledge of the Lord. Each day my life is lived to the fullest no matter my circumstances.

Oh I pray that you will come into a wonderful relationship. Think about it no further procrastinate no more,we never know when life will end for us. Can we any of us, afford to procrastinate this decision? I promise you will not regret it. No one who has truly accepted the Lord has ever spent one moment in regret of doing so. Not one single person. There are millions of life changing testimonials out there. God is so loving and so freely gives love to us each and everyone individually. He desires you beyond measure.

Love you all in Christ Jesus,Tammy

The Day Of The Lord, What Is It? Part 3

posted by PrayerWarrior

I just want to say it is of huge importance to recognize when the coming of the Lord is. Not because if you believe it a post tribulation rapture and it is a pre tribulation rapture you will miss it. I know without a single doubt not one little piece of a doubt that it is a post tribulation rapture, but pre tribulation people are always saying that we will not be accounted worthy to be a part of the rapture if we are not thinking it is imminent. It is not imminent. There is much that must occur before the day of the Lord, and being blind to the truth is very dangerous indeed in so many ways for those who just refuse to listen to the truth of the matter. What friends will you do when you find out that you have been blinded by satan and have allowed this blinding to go on? What will you do when the Lord tarries, and does not come when you believe He is supposed to? I pray that you will be prepared and strong because you are going to need it.

Now on to the last of the verses.

Isaiah 27:1 In that day, the LORD will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword, Leviathan the gliding serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.

Joel 2:1 Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming. It is close at hand.

Joel 2:11 The LORD thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number, and mighty are those who obey his command. The day of the LORD is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it?

Zephaniah 1:15 That day will be a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness.

Zechariah 14:6-9 On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost. 7 It will be a unique day, without daytime or nighttime–a day known to the LORD. When evening comes, there will be light. 8 On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to the western sea, in summer and in winter. 9 The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.

Malachi 3:2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.

1 Corinthians 1:8 He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 5:5 hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.

Philippians 2:16 as you hold out the word of life–in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

2 Thessalonians 1:10 on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you. This is clearly saying YOU!!!. I do not see how people so easily ignore the word of God in it’s entirety. I cannot understand any longer how this occurs. It personally made me ask a huge amount of questions, that no one could answer, when I was a pre tribulationist.

2 Thessalonians 2:2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come.

2 Timothy 4:8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. A one time awarding of crowns, on THAT DAY!!! The Last day,the only return of Christ.

2 Peter 3:12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

1 John 4:17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him.

Lamentations 2:22 “You have called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD’S anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up has my enemy consumed.”

Isaiah 13:9 “Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.”

Isaiah 34:8 “For it is the day of the LORD’S vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion.”

Joel 3:14 “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.”

Joel 3:12 “Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I it to judge all the heathen round about.”

Zachariah 12:11 “In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.”

Malachi 4:5 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD”
Acts 2:20 “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come”

Isaiah 13:13 “Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.”
Proverbs 6:34 “For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.”

Isaiah 61:2 “To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn”
Isaiah 63:4 “For the day of vengeance is in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.”

Job 21:30 “That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? They shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.”
Proverbs 11:4 “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.”

Romans 2:5 “But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasures up unto yourself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God”.

For now dear sisters and brothers this is it. I will as the weeks and months go along refer back to certain of these scriptures and possibly even all of them at one time or another, and will even put different ones down,as I explain this all out. I am sorry if I repeated any verses.

We can comfort ourselves with the knowledge that we are not due God’s wrath or anger. We are though going to go through severe trials and persecution. Christ tells us we will suffer persecution and our families will turn us over to persecution in the end times, but there is one church of the seven churches that is promised protection through it. That church is the church of Philadelphia the church of love, who believes in the power of the Holy Spirit. But that is for another lesson.

May God Bless you and hold you in His hands at all times. We must endure and keep on loving and yes even praising Him as we go through trials,we do not want our running this race to have been for nothing when He comes.

One last remark I must make. People do not study the book of Revelation for many reasons, all of them are a cop out. It is just not smart to ignore the fulfillment of the word of the Lord, the ending. Also it is the only book of the bible that tells us we will be blessed for reading it. Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

So in closing,I just want to say, what is the day of the Lord? It is the fulfillment of every promise, every prophecy. It is God’s wrath on a sinful world, and on evil. This day and it is a one day event, has been stored up within God for centuries, for thousands of years. No one will stand against the Lord in that great and terrible day. The day of the Lord is His vengeance being wreaked on the whole of evil men and fallen angels.

The Day Of The Lord, What Is It ? Part 2

posted by PrayerWarrior

I will now post as many of the verses as I know of, that pertain to the day of the Lord. I know there are many more too, but for times sake, I cannot post every one of them or at this moment find them all. This would take me at least a year. The day of the Lord is also called, that day,the day of judgment, the day of His wrath, the great day. The day of reckoning, day of salvation, day of battle, the day of trouble, day of the Lord Jesus, and finally the day of God. This way no one can say oh this does not say the day of the Lord.

Now there is no particular order to my account of the verses that pertain to the day of the Lord, so please bear with me.
Rev 6:14 The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
Rev 16:20 And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found.
Isaiah 34:4 All the host of heaven shall rot away, and the skies roll up like a scroll. All their host shall fall, as leaves fall from the vine, like leaves falling from the fig tree.

2Peter 3:10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.
Psalm 102:26 They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away. Isaiah 2:16-17 against all the lofty mountains, and against all the uplifted hills; against every high tower, and against every fortified wall; against all the ships of Tarshish, and against all the beautiful craft. And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled, and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

Jer 4:23-26 I looked on the earth, and behold, it was without form and void; and to the heavens, and they had no light. I looked on the mountains, and behold, they were quaking, and all the hills moved to and fro. I looked, and behold, there was no man, and all the birds of the air had fled. I looked, and behold, the fruitful land was a desert, and all its cities were laid in ruins before the Lord, before his fierce anger.
Jer 51:45“Go out of the midst of her, my people! Let every one save his life from the fierce anger of the LORD!

Ezek 38:19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
Isaiah 54:17 But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken!

Hab 3:12-14 12 In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations. 13 You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed ones. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot. 14 With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding.

Notice verse 13,came out to save your anointed ones? Hmmmm if all the anointed ones have been take away from the earth already, then whom is this speaking of? No dear brothers and sisters I am sorry to say, but the Lord Jesus comes to bring wrath, the day of the Lord is only minutes after the rapture. Let’s look at the meaning of the word anointed.

Anointed = to consecrate or make sacred. Jesus Christ makes us sacred and we are consecrated through Him. What is consecrated? Consecrated = to make or declare sacred; set apart or dedicate to the service of a deity: Also sacred = entitled to veneration or religious respect by association with divinity or divine things; holy. We are set apart to be Holy,as the Lord is holy. We are striving more and more daily to be holy like the Lord.

We are perfected through trials and tribulations, In I Pet 1:7 we read that the trial of our faith, which is much more precious than gold, is for praise and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. Gold in its original state has many impurities. Gold has to go through a period of purification by melting it in a furnace at a very high temperature. After this process of purification, the impure gold becomes perfect. This is the same way we are perfected through fiery trials,we are purified.

James 1:4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. I love this. I don’t know about most people, but I am looking forward to being purified. I know that may seem strange, but think about it this way. We are going to see ourselves perfected. We will through Christ be able to withstand anything and everything. Now back to verses about the day of the Lord.

Obadiah 1:15 “The day of the LORD is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head.
Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
Isaiah 13:6 Wail, for the Lord’s day of judgment is near; it comes with all the destructive power of the sovereign judge.

Zeph 1:14 The Lord’s great day of judgment is almost here; it is approaching very rapidly! There will be a bitter sound on the Lord’s day of judgment; at that time warriors will cry out in battle.
Ezek30:3 For the day is near, the day of the Lord is near; it will be a day of storm clouds, it will be a time of judgment for the nations.
Joel 1:15 How awful that day will be! For the day of the Lord is near; it will come as destruction from the Divine Destroyer.

Ezek 7:7 Doom is coming upon you who live in the land! The time is coming, the day is near. There are sounds of tumult, not shouts of joy, on the mountains.
Jer 46:10 But that day belongs to the Lord God who rules over all. It is the day when he will pay back his enemies. His sword will devour them until its appetite is satisfied!
